Artist Statement Dan Cashman
Dan Cashman studied art at the University of Minnesota where he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Involved in many forms of the arts all of his life, he also holds a Ph. D. in Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. His day job is film and television acting: The Tonight Show, Days of Our Lives, The District, General Hospital, LA Law, Kiss the Girls, Rocket Science, etc., and many commercials and audio books. Formerly he designed and taught scenic design and directed plays at universities and regional theatres across the country. Several years ago he returned to his first love, plein air painting. Acrylics and pastels are his preferred media. His work has been exhibited in the Midwest and the West Coast and is in several private collections.
