Artist Statement Emily Goldfield
Emily Goldfield was born in Brooklyn, New York. She attended the University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Science degree, Penn State University where she received a Master's Degree in Parks and Recreation and the University of Southern California where she received a Doctorate in Education and Fine Arts. She is listed in Who's Who in America and is a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. As both a dancer and an equestrian, Emily was drawn to the great pastel paintings of Edgar Degas. Combining her love of the medium with the beauty of Southern California's mountains and beaches, Emily's plein air paintings invite the viewer into a world of calm.
