Artist Statement
Carol Garland
"From the first day I began painting in the Santa
Monica Mountains, I wanted to capture the feeling of absolute awe I
experienced hiking in the rugged mountains, spring meadows and windswept
canyons."
Through trial and error, long hours in the sun and much
spilled paint, Carole Garland has integrated her desire to record a
natural site, convey a mood and create a dramatic work of art
